This additional revenue will fill critical funding gaps in our parks and recreation programs, providing basic maintenance and keeping our parks open. The funds will be overseen by an independent citizens’ oversight committee to keep the County accountable for how the funds are spent. The quality of local parks, like good schools, is reflected in the value of our homes. This 1/8 cent sales tax will cost the average resident less than $2/month, but will provide benefits worth far more: increased quality of life, neighborhood safety, and water quality.
